Terms of Service

Welcome to Top Garage Tools. By accessing or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
About This Site
Top Garage Tools covers the tools a home mechanic actually reaches for: cordless impact wrenches, socket sets, floor jacks, battery chargers and maintainers, and mechanic creepers. Every review comes from real jobs on a real truck in a working garage, oil changes, brake jobs, tire rotations and winter battery care, so you can see how a tool holds up before you put it on your own bench.

Garage Safety
Never work under a vehicle supported only by a floor jack. A jack is for lifting, not holding. Set the vehicle on jack stands rated for its weight, placed at the manufacturer's lift points on solid, level concrete, and chock the wheels that stay on the ground before you slide underneath.
Wear safety glasses for any job under a vehicle or with power tools, since rust, brake dust and fluid fall straight down. Cordless impact wrenches can over-tighten lug nuts and strip studs, so run lug nuts down snug and finish them with a torque wrench to the value in your owner's manual. Hearing protection is worth wearing for long sessions with an impact wrench.
Lead-acid batteries can release hydrogen gas while charging. Charge in a ventilated space, keep sparks and flames away, connect the charger before plugging it in, and follow the charger maker's instructions and your vehicle manual. Wear gloves and eye protection around battery acid. Keep creepers and cords out of walkways, and store heavy tools low so a chest or case cannot tip.
The information on this site is general guidance from hands-on experience, not professional repair advice. If a job is beyond your skill or tools, take the vehicle to a qualified mechanic.
